Louis Vuitton Reveals Futuristic Flagship Concept for Beverly Hills

Frank Gehry’s Vision: A Lotus-Inspired Design

The proposed 45,000-square-foot retail space is the brainchild of renowned architect Frank Gehry, whose sculptural approach echoes the fluid curves of a white lotus flower. The three-story, windowless twin buildings will be joined by two pedestrian bridges and adorned with sleek white flutes and overlapping petal-like facades. Black Louis Vuitton logos will crown the striking design.

Interior designer Peter Marino, known for his work on Dior and Chanel flagships, will craft the building’s interiors—offering an elevated, immersive experience consistent with the Louis Vuitton brand.

More Than Just a Store: A Lifestyle Destination

The flagship isn’t just about luxury goods—it’s a full Louis Vuitton lifestyle experience. Visitors will find:

  • A ground-floor café and exhibition lobby
  • Two floors of high-end retail space
  • A 100-seat rooftop restaurant with an open-air terrace
  • Two landscaped inner courtyards

The new space will house men’s and women’s collections, accessories, beauty products, watches, jewelry, and travel merchandise—delivering a comprehensive showcase of Louis Vuitton’s product universe.

Replacing the Scrapped Hotel Project

Originally, the 1.1-acre site was intended for the Cheval Blanc Beverly Hills Hotel, a 109-room luxury hotel by LVMH. Despite receiving city planning commission approval, the project was narrowly rejected by voters in 2023 following a ballot measure sparked by labor union opposition. In response, LVMH—the parent company of Louis Vuitton—shifted gears and reimagined the site as a retail flagship instead.

LVMH purchased the property in 2018 for $245 million and is now pushing forward with plans for construction. If approvals go smoothly, the new Louis Vuitton Beverly Hills flagship could break ground as early as 2026, with an expected opening in 2029.

A New Landmark for Rodeo Drive

This bold new development is more than just a retail expansion—it’s poised to become a landmark architectural attraction in Beverly Hills, adding cultural and commercial value to the already famous Rodeo Drive corridor.
